Role Description
This is a full‑time, hybrid Accessories Designer role based in Leicester. The Accessories Designer will create original designs for licensed accessories such as bags, hats, socks, jewellery, and other product categories aligned with Fashion UK’s brand portfolio and trend direction. Day‑to‑day responsibilities include researching trends, materials, and customer insights, developing initial concepts, sketching and rendering designs, and preparing detailed technical specifications for sampling and production. The role involves collaborating closely with product development, merchandising, sales, and sourcing teams to ensure designs are commercially viable, meet brand guidelines, and align with cost and quality requirements. The Accessories Designer will also review samples, provide feedback for improvements, support presentations to internal stakeholders and retail partners, and ensure deadlines are met for seasonal collections and quick‑turn fast‑fashion projects.
Qualifications
- Strong Accessory Design skills with a portfolio demonstrating creativity across categories such as bags, hats, socks and related products.
- Competence in Product Design and Product Development, including creating technical drawings, specs, and collaborating with factories to move designs from concept to production.
- Ability to conduct effective Research on trends, consumer preferences, materials, and competitor products to inform design decisions.
- Proficiency in relevant design software (e.g., Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop) and familiarity with CAD tools for fashion and accessories.
- Good understanding of licensed product requirements, branding guidelines, and retailer expectations within the fashion industry.
- Strong communication, organization, and time‑management skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects and meet tight deadlines.
- Relevant qualification in Fashion Design, Accessory Design, Product Design, or a related discipline, or equivalent professional experience.
- Experience working with international suppliers and knowledge of production processes and materials for accessories is beneficial.
