We are happy to be partnering with a heritage luxury department store and lifestyle brand known for their artistic design, distinctive prints, and carefully curated fashion and home goods. They are looking for a Sales Manager for a fixed term contract to cover a maternity leave, starting as soon as possible and ending in April 2027. The brand champions creativity, independent designers, and distinctive aesthetics, and is known for their iconic prints and fabrics.

The role is a maternity cover Sales Manager position within the womenswear department, focusing on contemporary and premium brands. The role will predominantly manage the womenswear floor but may occasionally cover other areas (e.g. menswear) due to scheduling needs. The team is fun, busy and hands-on, with a strong focus on retail operations and relationship building.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage the womenswear floor and ensure excellent customer service and visual merchandising.
  • Cover other areas such as menswear as required by scheduling needs.
  • Lead, coach, and develop a team of up to 20 direct reports.
  • Maintain high operational standards and achieve sales targets.
  • Build and nurture relationships with customers and team members.

Qualifications:

  • Extensive people management experience, ideally managing teams of up to 20 direct reports.
  • Strong operational and people leadership skills.
  • Experience in contemporary/premium fashion retail environments.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Already performing at manager level.

Salary: £38,000 – £42,000 per annum, plus potential bonus.

Working Hours: Floor-based, five days a week, including weekends (one full weekend off per month and at least one Saturday or Sunday off on other weekends).
