Senior HR Payroll Specialist
London Head Office | 6+ Month Temporary Position | Immediate Start
We’re partnering with a global fashion retailer to recruit an experienced Senior HR Payroll Specialist to join their London Head Office on an initial 6+ month hire, with an ASAP start.
This is an excellent opportunity for a hands‑on HR and payroll professional to join a fast‑paced, international fashion business and play a key role in ensuring a smooth, accurate and compliant payroll operation.

The Role

As Senior HR Payroll Specialist, you’ll take ownership of the end‑to‑end payroll process while partnering closely with HR, Finance and key stakeholders across the business.
You’ll be responsible for ensuring payroll is delivered accurately and on time, while providing expert advice and support across payroll, HR administration and employee queries.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage the end‑to‑end monthly payroll process, ensuring accuracy and timely completion.
  • Oversee payroll inputs including starters, leavers, salary changes, bonuses, benefits, deductions and absences.
  • Ensure compliance with HMRC, PAYE, National Insurance, pensions and statutory requirements.
  • Manage payroll reconciliations and work closely with Finance to ensure accurate reporting and payments.
  • Act as a key point of contact for employees and managers on payroll and HR‑related queries.
  • Maintain accurate employee records and ensure HR and payroll data is consistently up to date.
  • Support the administration of benefits, pensions and other reward‑related processes.
  • Identify and resolve payroll discrepancies quickly and effectively.
  • Support payroll audits and ensure appropriate controls and processes are maintained.
  • Work collaboratively with HR, Finance and international stakeholders in a fast‑moving global environment.
  • Contribute to process improvements, automation and optimisation of HR and payroll processes.

About You

We’re looking for a confident, experienced payroll professional who can hit the ground running in a high‑volume, international environment.

  • Significant experience managing UK payroll end‑to‑end.
  • Strong knowledge of UK and EU payroll legislation, PAYE, NI, pensions and statutory payments.
  • Experience working across HR and payroll, rather than payroll processing alone.
  • Excellent attention to detail and a highly organised approach.
  • Strong Excel skills and confidence working with HR/payroll systems.
  • The ability to manage multiple priorities and tight deadlines.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder‑management skills.
  • A proactive, hands‑on approach with the confidence to work independently.
  • Experience within retail, fashion, FMCG or another fast‑paced consumer environment would be highly advantageous.
  • Experience working within a global or international organisation would be beneficial.

If you’re an experienced Senior HR Payroll Specialist available at short notice and looking for an exciting opportunity within a globally recognised fashion business, we’d love to hear from you.

We look forward to hearing from you!
