A leading multi-product retailer is looking to recruit a general manager to oversee one of its multi-million turnover stores in the southeast. The business ethos is to be customer obsessed and every decision it makes is based on offering exceptional customer service standards in its stores. The company has a long history for being a people centric culture, which focuses on employee well-being and doing what is right for the team. Responsibilities

  • You will work closely with the buying team to ensure that you have the right product and necessary stock levels to deliver the commercial performance expected.
  • You will have the autonomy to make decisions around product placement, store layout and stock levels which is something that isn’t ordinarily given in most organisations.

Qualifications

  • Coming from a service focused, retail environment, you will be able to demonstrate the skills and experience to lead this business to achieve its goals.
  • You’ll enjoy working with multiple stakeholders and have a proven track record of making successful commercial decisions which have delivered growth in your previous roles.
  • Product experience is less important; the ability to lead and motivate your team is more so.
  • Being able to demonstrate trading your business based on your customer understanding, along with evidence of sales growth made with decisions based on product and range, are of equal importance.

Compensation & Benefits

In return the role is paying a basic salary of up to £80,000 plus the potential to earn an additional £15,000 in bonus. There are also a huge range of benefits available to employees of this organisation which include heavily discounted products and discounts on a range of organisations across the UK. Typically, you will work one in three weekends, with the occasional early start or late finish. The core working hours are between 8am and 6pm.
