Freelance Footwear Technologist – Fashion Brand

A leading UK-based fashion brand is seeking a Freelance Footwear Technologist to support their growing footwear category.

Working closely with the design and buying teams, you’ll play a key role in ensuring product quality, fit, compliance, and innovation across seasonal collections. This is a fantastic opportunity to partner with a dynamic brand known for bold, individual style and a loyal customer base.

What You’ll Be Doing:

• Manage fit sessions and provide clear, actionable feedback to factories
• Approve specs, constructions, and materials from concept through to production
• Ensure all products meet legal, ethical, and brand standards (including REACH, safety, and durability)
• Work closely with UK and offshore suppliers to solve technical challenges
• Monitor critical path to ensure timely delivery and approvals

You’ll Need:

• Proven experience as a Footwear Technologist (women’s and/or men’s casual and fashion footwear)
• Strong knowledge of footwear construction, materials, and testing standards
• Experience working with Far East suppliers
• Ability to work independently in a fast-paced, design-led environment
• Attention to detail and a proactive, solution-focused approach
