A leading childrenswear supplier is seeking an experienced Garment Technologist to join their dynamic team. Reporting to the Technical Manager, the successful candidate will work closely with Account Managers and Designers, playing a key role in ensuring all products meet customer and European safety standards.
This position involves conducting risk assessments on confirmed orders, supporting the creation of development specifications, and advising on all safety aspects throughout the design process. The Garment Technologist will manage the fit process from initial samples through to production, ensuring all garments meet required standards.
They will arrange and lead fit sessions with customers, both virtually and in person, while maintaining accurate records and critical paths. Working collaboratively with factories, the role requires clear and consistent communication to ensure all technical comments are understood and implemented.
The candidate will also liaise directly with customers, manage testing processes, submit documentation through online platforms, and analyse test reports to ensure fabric performance requirements are met. Additional responsibilities include monitoring inspection reports, approving Gold Seal samples, ensuring all certification is in place for shipment, and supporting wider QA duties when required.
The ideal candidate will have strong technical knowledge in childrenswear, excellent communication skills, and a proactive approach to managing timelines and quality standards in a fast-paced environment.
