We are seeking an experienced Atelier Manager to join a prestigious luxury fashion house on a freelance basis. This is a unique opportunity to lead a high-performing in-house atelier, working closely with the design team to develop prototypes and samples for upcoming collections.

About the Role

You will oversee the atelier's day-to-day operations, ensuring seamless collaboration with design, product development, sourcing, and vendor teams. Managing a skilled team of seamstresses and pattern-makers, you'll drive efficiency, technical excellence, and innovative solutions that align with the brand's creative vision.

Key Responsibilities

  • Build trust and influence sustainable, efficient workflows between Design and Atelier teams
  • Manage production priorities across two seasonal collections, optimizing team capacity and scheduling
  • Provide expert technical oversight and ensure consistent quality of prototypes and samples
  • Lead resource planning, including hiring and managing freelancers to meet fluctuating demands
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with design, 3D development, product development, and sourcing
  • Oversee cost control and budgeting within the atelier
  • Support key deadlines both locally and during international travel (e.g. Paris shows)
