BMS Design Engineer - Senior or Associate in Manchester

We are seeking an experienced Senior or Associate BMS Design Engineer to join our established building services team and support the delivery of high-quality, technically robust Building Management System (BMS) solutions across a diverse portfolio of projects. This role offers the opportunity to work on complex developments across sectors including commercial & real estate, finance, and mission-critical infrastructure, contributing to the design of efficient, compliant, and future-ready buildings.

Responsibilities

• Design, coordinate and manage the BMS design on projects, establish client brief, technical requirements, scope of works, cost plans and agree deliverables.
• Agree level of service, and project design duties with your supervisor for each project.
• Assist supervisor with monitoring BMS design resource requirement for each project within your control.
• Carry out BMS concept design to detailed design, tender and contract on site supervision, to completion.
• Liaise with the design team to produce co-ordinated designs that are technically compliant.
• Monitor and control project progress, design variations and project financial budgets.
• Maintain excellent client and design team relationships to achieve high levels of satisfaction and repeat business.
• Pursue new business opportunities where appropriate with existing and new clients.
• Implement and manage QA systems and procedures on all projects.
• Implement Company Health and Safety and ensure all designs respond to the CDM regulations.

Required Qualifications

• Industry experience minimum 5 years in designing BMS systems across various construction sectors.
• Design experience to include the review of MEP systems along with the development of associated BMS DESOPS and point schedules.
• Skills in project managing ongoing jobs with limited supervision are desirable.
• Competency in MS Word, Excel, Outlook & PowerPoint.
• Educational qualifications to a degree level or relevant work experience.
• Good knowledge and use of appropriate project and design analysis software.
• Personable and a 'can do' attitude with resource management experience.
• Able to establish rapport and good working relationships within the project team and Clients.
