HDR Engineering is seeking a UK Industrial Logistics Practice Lead to join our growing Industrial Sector.

The UK Industrial Logistics Practice Lead will oversee HDR’s UK Industrial Logistics Practice strategy, client development, business growth, recruitment, financial performance, and project delivery. Responsibilities include overseeing technical and financial aspects of planning, design, and construction of industrial logistics facilities; collaborating with HDR local managers, regional directors, and sector leadership on strategic planning, goal setting, budgeting, project pursuits, staffing, and community engagement.

Responsibilities

As Project Principal General, you will:

  • Develop and implement strategies for profitable growth of HDR’s Industrial Logistics Practice in the UK.
  • Provide technical leadership for project delivery within the practice.
  • Recruit, mentor, and retain key personnel; foster client relationships.
  • Collaborate with HDR’s Construction General Contractors to strengthen market presence.
  • Leverage HDR’s service offerings—environmental, water, packaging, architecture, transportation, civil/structural, geotechnical, electrical/I&C, strategic communications, sustainability, and others—into the practice.
  • Participate in annual planning and budgeting processes.
  • Manage projects and provide subject matter expertise.
  • Build and maintain strong client relationships as a client manager.
  • Monitor market trends and contribute to strategic planning.
  • Lead pursuit proposals, scope, budget, and schedule reviews, and client feedback activities.
  • Represent HDR in business and community activities.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Architecture, Science, or related field.
  • Minimum 10 years of experience in the industrial sector.
  • Proven ability to develop and maintain client relationships in consulting.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Ability to work cooperatively within HDR’s matrix organization and diverse teams.
  • Commitment to quality, continuous improvement, and HDR’s values.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor\’s degree in a related field.
  • 15 years of related experience.
  • At least 7 years of project management experience.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, estimating, scheduling, and project management software.
  • Strong organizational, communication, and teamwork skills.
  • Active participation in our employee-owned culture is essential.
