As an Associate Structural Engineer you will provide management to the Structures group, monitoring and delivering projects with effective use of resources relative to fee and ensuring maximum profitability, maintaining technical quality, professionalism, and completing all design activities to programme.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the design and delivery of structural engineering projects from concept through to completion
  • Provide technical oversight on complex schemes, ensuring innovative and efficient solutions
  • Manage client relationships and represent the business at meetings and presentations
  • Oversee project budgets, programmes and commercial performance
  • Mentor and develop engineers and technicians within the team
  • Support business development activities, bids and proposals
  • Contribute to strategic growth plans and team expansion

Requirements

  • Degree‑qualified in Civil or Structural Engineering
  • Chartered or working towards Chartership (IStructE or ICE preferred)
  • Proven experience within an engineering design consultancy (minimum 6yrs) delivering structural projects across a range of sectors (experience working on data centre projects is essential)
  • Strong knowledge of UK design standards and regulations
  • Commercial awareness and experience managing project finances
  • Confident communicator with leadership ambition
  • Proficiency in industry‑standard software (e.g., Tekla, Tedds, ETABS, Robot, Revit)
