HDR is seeking an Associate or Associate Director for the Hotel, Leisure & Entertainment market to join our London practice. As an Associate/Associate Director, you will be part of an organization that is 100-percent employee owned, supporting and creating opportunities for advancement, success, and fulfilling career aspirations.
Primary Objective
As an MEP Associate/Associate Director, you will have the opportunity to foster client relationships, support annual planning, lead pursuits, and oversee project teams. These span various project types in the Hotel, Leisure & Entertainment Market Sector. Leading project teams in marketing and securing project wins is a focus of the position.
Responsibilities
- Develop and nurture strong relationships with multiple clients, from pre-positioning activities to project execution and beyond.
- Maintain an active presence in the Hotel, Leisure & Entertainment market sector, driving growth and sales.
- Identify new opportunities and lead strategy for development and execution of client and pursuit capture planning.
- Collaborate with the leadership team in strategic planning, alignment, and advancement of key market sector initiatives.
- Support Area Managers, Project Principals, and Project Managers with project contracts.
- Serve as Project Director or Project Principal on projects.
- Provide leadership of concurrent projects and related multidisciplinary teams.
- Ensure client oversight throughout project execution, including conformance to client expectations.
- Maintain client relations following project completion.
- Partner with production managers to maintain and strengthen core teams.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Building Services, or a relevant field.
- Minimum of 8 years of experience in a Mechanical or Electrical capacity within the Hotel, Leisure & Entertainment sector.
- Proven track record of business development, relationship building, and operational results in the Hotel/hospitality market sector.
- Experienced in development and management of client relationships and program/project pursuits.
- Experienced in staff development, recruiting, career path, and professional growth.
- Experienced in development and management of diverse teams.
- Experienced with industry associations and maintains a visible profile in the market sector.
- Ability to work cooperatively with various directors and managers.
- Demonstrated commitment to HDR values and excellent communication skills.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in a related field.
- 7 years of related experience.
- Minimum of 2 years of project management experience.
- Ability to interact with design teams, excellent organizational, project management, and communication skills.
