About the role
We are seeking a Senior Transportation Planner / Project Manager to help expand our services in the United Kingdom (UK). The position would report to our Head of Transport in the UK. The position leads the delivery of transportation planning projects across multiple modes in the UK and will support similar projects in the US, Canada and Middle East.
Responsibilities
- Project management of transportation planning projects in the UK and support to similar projects in the Middle East, USA and Canada.
- Providing technical leadership.
- Manage other staff with the development of deliverables including analyses and reports.
- Lead and develop teams and individuals.
- Responsible for the financial performance, programme and technical standards of projects.
- Prepare project and fee proposals.
- Work directly with clients supporting their transport needs and establish relationships.
- Prepare and review project deliverables, including reports and presentations including compliance with HDR project quality standards.
- Work collaboratively with other teams in HDR, including those based in the UK, Middle East and North America.
- Assist in the development and growth of the HDR UK Transportation business.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Geography, Urban Design or related subject.
- A minimum of 10 years' experience within transportation planning and urban design.
- Strong background in active travel, public transport, scheme development, strategies, studies and appraisals and development control, including preparing Transport Assessments and Travel Plans.
- Possess excellent analytical, technical, and communication skills.
- Experience in statutory consultation and planning appeals is a plus.
