HDR offers a great opportunity for an experienced Senior Electrical Engineer who enjoys working with multidisciplinary teams throughout the project lifecycle, from concept development to construction.
As a Senior Electrical Engineer, you will work with engineering teams to create detailed designs, plans, specifications, and estimates for Data Centre/Mission Critical facilities. HDR is a 100% employee-owned firm with transparent financials and a strong performance record, providing many opportunities for career growth.
About You
You should be a competent and experienced designer, a self-starter capable of managing resources to meet project demands while maintaining technical excellence and regulatory compliance, working as part of a broader multidisciplinary team.
In this role, you will:
- Carry out engineering concept design through to detailed design.
- Produce detailed and installation designs of electrical systems for Data Centres/Mission Critical projects.
- Ensure all designs and reports meet technical standards and quality, conducting regular reviews and checks.
- Motivate and manage staff within the group, setting objectives, monitoring performance, coaching, and developing team members.
- Implement and manage QA systems and procedures across projects.
- Ensure all designs comply with health and safety standards and CDM regulations.
- Adhere to Quality Management System ISO 9001 and 14001 standards.
Preferred Qualifications
- BEng, MSc, or equivalent in Electrical Engineering, Building Services, or related fields.
- At least 5 years’ experience in electrical design, especially for Data Centres.
- Experience in managing electrical design projects through all stages.
- Knowledge of critical electrical systems, MV and LV power, standby generators, UPS, earthing, fire alarm systems.
- Proficiency in Revit, AutoCAD, and 3D coordination.
- Chartered Electrical Engineer (desirable).
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical or Architectural Engineering with an electrical focus.
- Extensive knowledge of building electrical power, lighting, signal design, life safety, and building management systems.
- Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Office, AutoCAD, and electrical design software.
