A fashion brand in Manchester City Centre are looking for a Merchandiser to join their team in a MAT Cover position for a period of up to 15 months.

The Brand

They are an established fashion brand who launched in 2017. The objective of this role is to work with the Head of Buying & Merchandising to build relationships with other internal and external departments, understand fully and create business end to end process and to guide the Merchandising team to efficiently maximise commercial opportunities throughout the various brands, through the effective management of inventory, driving sales through improved availability, forecasting and reducing mark down to maximise profit.

The Role

  • Establish close working relationships with the buying and design team, working together with other departments to formulate strategies and deliver on them.
  • Support planning of budgets by category, option count, and depth of buy, based on the overall business and financial goals of the company.
  • Control stock levels based on weekly sales and stock intakes (using the WSSI).
  • Report and present in weekly and monthly trade meetings.
  • Review sales forecasts based on performance and action re-forecasts where necessary.
  • Analyse and monitor the best and worst sellers, using this information to make informed trade actions on a weekly basis.
  • Develop, implement and manage promotional and markdown strategy.
  • Prepare adhoc analysis to support the Head of Buying and Merchandising as required.
  • Recommend any promotions and re-buys where necessary, using relevant data to make these decisions.
  • Lead the way to maximise department potential through commercial, collaborative, and strategic decision making.

About You

  • Already well-established in a Junior Merchandiser or Merchandiser level role or above, and confident in driving the full lifecycle of a category.
  • A strong love for product and awareness of the market.
  • Strong numerical acumen and attention to detail.
  • Ability to make decisions in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong organisational skills, able to use initiative and to work in a pressurised environment.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to communicate clearly, effectively, and appropriately with colleagues at all levels.
  • Advanced skills in Excel.

Extras

  • Salary is up to 42k.
  • 5 Days a week in the office.
  • 25 days holiday plus 8 days bank holiday.
  • 10% bonus.
