A fashion brand in Manchester are looking for a Garment Technologist to support the design team through all stages of product development, from design to manufacture.
The Brand
They are a small but growing womenswear brand based in Manchester & they are looking for an experienced Garment Technologist to join their team. In this role, you will carry out a range of technical, investigative and quality control work to ensure the end product performs to specification.
The Role
- Create workbooks, specs and grading rules for every garment across each product category.
- Lead fit sessions collaboratively with the design team, advising on fit/fabrication solutions across all product categories to achieve world class fit across multiple body types.
- Ability to review AQL reports and take full ownership of measuring, reviewing and approving ship samples before production is shipped.
- Work collaboratively with their Customer Service team to review any styles with high return rate due to QC/fit issues and make amendments to counteract this and reduce overall returns rate.
- Liaise with suppliers on a daily basis ensuring critical path deadlines are met.
About You
- A strong knowledge of multi-category womenswear including fits, fabric and grading is essential.
- Experience working with UK and Far East suppliers and factories.
- Understanding of garment construction techniques.
- Understanding of product returns and implementing improvements based on the products performance.
- A high level of organisation and the ability to implement new processes to improve accuracy, efficiency and ultimately make the best product possible for our customers.
