An established fashion brand based in Accrington is looking for a Junior Fashion Designer to join their growing design team. The role is a hands-on design position covering the full product development cycle from trend research and initial concept to technical packs and sample sign off.
As part of the Junior Designer role, you will be joining the product team to help build ranges from concept through to production and sale to customer and wholesale.
The Role:
- Assist in the research and development of seasonal trend reports and mood boards
- Produce detailed design packs including technical drawings, colourways, trim details, and construction specs
- Create accurate CAD technical drawings for all product categories
- Support the fabric and trim sourcing process, liaising with suppliers to obtain swatches and pricing
- Measure garments and check samples against technical specifications, flagging any discrepancies
- Maintain organised and up-to-date sample records and design files
- Use Excel to manage range plans, critical path tracking, and supplier data
- Collaborate with the wider team on photoshoot prep, including sample coordination and styling support
- Produce Photoshop and Illustrator artwork for prints, graphics, and branded details
- Stay informed on menswear trends, competitor activity, and emerging fabrics and materials
About You:
- Experience working in design in a fashion brand or in a garment manufacturing environment is a bonus
- A degree or qualification in Fashion Design, Garment Technology, or a related discipline
- Strong proficiency in Adobe Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator, Excel, and Microsoft Office
- Team player
- Experience or strong understanding of the fabric sourcing and sampling process
