A fashion brand based in Manchester City Centre are looking for a Senior Womenswear Designer to join their growing design team.
The Brand
They are a small but growing brand based in Manchester & they are looking for a Senior Womenswear Designer to join their team. Known for their trend-driven and inclusive approach to fashion, they are looking for a creative Senior Designer who can help shape the brand’s design direction and develop innovative collections that resonate with their customer.
The Role
- Lead and develop the brand’s creative vision, translating it into innovative, cohesive and trend-led collections.
- Design and develop seasonal collections from initial concepts through to final samples, ensuring designs reflect the brand’s aesthetic and customer.
- Continuously push creative boundaries, bringing fresh and original ideas to the design process.
- Conduct extensive trend and market research across colours, fabrics, materials and silhouettes to ensure the brand remains commercially relevant.
- Compile and present seasonal trend reports to help shape future collections and design direction.
- Source and select fabrics, trims and other materials, balancing creativity, quality and commerciality.
- Create detailed technical sketches, CADs and tech packs, working closely with pattern cutters, manufacturers and suppliers to bring designs to life.
- Work closely with the Design Director and Creative Director to develop and evolve the brand’s visual and design language.
About You
- Strong knowledge of fabrics, textiles, trims and garment construction.
- Proficient in Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop, with strong CAD and technical drawing skills.
- Experienced in creating detailed tech packs, specifications and technical information for sampling and production.
- Strong understanding of garment construction, fit and the production process.
- Experience supporting fit sessions and providing clear, detailed fit comments.
- Ability to work collaboratively with Design, Technical, Merchandising and Production teams.
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced, ever-changing environment while managing multiple deadlines.
Salary is up to £45k and the role is 4 days in the office & 1 day from home.
