Fasanara Digital is a quantitative investment team applying a scientific, high frequency investment style in digital assets, seeking to achieve exceptional risk-adjusted returns for our investors. We were founded in 2018 and have grown to a 30-person strong team, managing over $500m USD in a basket of fully delta-neutral trading strategies. Our team members come from diverse backgrounds. We are fully dedicated to building out our globally deployed, 24/7 availability trading platform, which allows us to capture trading opportunities on >15 crypto liquidity venues, and maintain our position as one of the top trading firms in the crypto industry.
We are strong believers in meritocracy, and we seek to reward people based on impact, judgement, and excellence in execution. We keep bureaucracy to a minimum, so decisions are made quickly and people have real ownership. Our environment is collaborative, inclusive, entrepreneurial, and built on trust. We set ambitious goals, work hard in a focused and sustainable way, and place a strong emphasis on teamwork, integrity, and quality in everything we do. We know we are only as good as our people, so we are deliberately building the firm around exceptional talent and diverse perspectives, and we support our leaders to grow, influence, and shape the future of the business.
We are looking for an experienced Java Software Engineer to join Fasanara Digital and take significant ownership of systems supporting our 24/7 trading activity. The role will focus on the development and maintenance of our multi-venue collateral management platform, alongside new reference data and accounting infrastructure supporting both digital assets and traditional financial markets. This is a hands-on engineering role within a small, high-performing team where engineers have a high degree of ownership and autonomy. You will work across both new development and existing production systems, designing new solutions while maintaining, improving, and scaling established code.
The successful candidate will ideally bring experience from financial services, trading, banking, or digital assets, although strong distributed systems experience from another high-performance environment will also be considered.
Responsibilities
- Develop, maintain, and enhance our multi-venue collateral management system supporting 24/7 trading activity.
- Build resilient distributed, real-time, and event-driven systems with high-availability requirements.
- Build and maintain integrations with trading venues to source account, position, collateral, and other operational data.
- Design reference data frameworks and accounting pipelines supporting both traditional financial instruments and digital assets.
- Develop primarily in Java and Kotlin, contributing to architecture and technical design while remaining highly hands-on.
- Maintain, refactor, and improve existing production code alongside developing new functionality.
- Take end-to-end ownership of technical problems, from design through to production delivery and ongoing support.
- Work closely with engineers and investment stakeholders to translate business requirements into effective technical solutions.
- Use modern AI-assisted development tools to improve engineering productivity and software quality.
