Founded in 2011, Fasanara is a global asset manager and technology platform managing approximately USD 6 billion in assets under management as of July 2026, investing across private and public markets on behalf of institutional investors globally. Alongside our established Fintech Lending franchise, Fasanara is building Open Quant: an institutional, technology-led multi-manager platform designed to give exceptional quantitative investment teams access to shared capital, infrastructure, execution, risk management and operational support. The Role: We are seeking a Quant Technology Lead to lead the design, architecture, delivery, and continuous evolution of the technology platform powering Fasanara Open Quant. Reporting directly to the Head of Technology, the successful candidate will be fully dedicated to the Open Quant business, working closely with the Head of Quant Division and the Quant investment team. As the primary technology partner to the business, they will translate investment, portfolio, risk, and operational requirements into scalable production technology. This is a highly hands-on technical leadership role. The successful candidate will design and build core platform capabilities while working directly with portfolio managers, quantitative researchers, traders, risk professionals, operations teams, and engineers. The ideal candidate combines deep software engineering and architecture expertise with a strong understanding of financial markets and investment technology. As Open Quant continues to scale, they will play a central role in defining its technical roadmap and developing the dedicated Quant Technology function.
Responsibilities:
- Platform Architecture & Engineering: Lead the design, architecture, development, and evolution of the Open Quant technology platform. Build scalable, secure, resilient, cloud-native systems supporting a growing multi-manager quantitative investment business. Define the technical roadmap for core investment, portfolio, risk, data, and operational systems. Design robust APIs, data models, and integration frameworks. Establish strong engineering standards across security, scalability, reliability, and operational excellence. Act as a hands-on technical lead while helping develop the wider Quant Technology function.
- Investment, Portfolio & Risk Technology: Design and develop institutional-quality investment and portfolio management technology. Build portfolio aggregation, investment analytics, and cross-manager risk monitoring capabilities. Develop portfolio, risk, and analytics capabilities on top of a centralised Position Ledger. Build APIs and data services providing investment, portfolio, and risk information to Portfolio Management, Risk, and Operations. Ensure investment data and analytics are accurate, reproducible, and auditable.
- Data & Integrations: Lead the development of a central Position Ledger integrating broker positions into a standardised and auditable data model. Build and maintain security master and pricing datasets. Design scalable market, portfolio, reference, and operational data architecture. Build resilient data pipelines supporting quantitative research, portfolio management, analytics, and production monitoring. Integrate market data providers, prime brokers, custodians, fund administrators, and other external systems into the platform.
- AI & Automation: Drive the practical application of AI across software development and investment workflows. Identify opportunities to automate investment and operational processes while maintaining appropriate controls and auditability. Evaluate emerging technologies that can improve platform performance, scalability, and engineering productivity.
- Technology Leadership & Partnership: Act as the primary technology partner to the Open Quant business. Work closely with portfolio managers and quantitative researchers to translate investment requirements into robust technical solutions. Partner with Risk, Operations, and central Technology teams to ensure platform capabilities meet business requirements. Own and drive the Quant Technology roadmap jointly with the Quant and Technology leadership teams.
Requirements:
- Essential: Significant software engineering and solution architecture experience, with a track record of building scalable production systems. Proven experience delivering technology for investment, trading, portfolio management, risk, or related institutional financial services platforms. Strong understanding of financial markets, investment workflows, and quantitative investment technology. Strong practical knowledge of cloud-native architectures, distributed systems, APIs, data platforms, databases, and production infrastructure. Strong hands-on software engineering capability alongside architecture and technical leadership experience. Experience designing secure and resilient systems where data accuracy, auditability, and operational reliability are critical. Ability to translate complex investment and business requirements into scalable technical solutions. Strong understanding of data architecture and integration across multiple internal and external data sources. Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills. Entrepreneurial mindset with a high degree of ownership, accountability, and attention to detail. Strong interest in innovation and the practical application of AI to technology and investment workflows.
- Desirable: Experience within a multi-manager hedge fund, quantitative investment platform, systematic asset manager, proprietary trading firm, or comparable institutional environment. Experience building shared investment platforms supporting multiple portfolio managers or investment teams. Strong knowledge of financial instruments, portfolio construction, risk management, execution, and investment fund operations. Experience integrating prime brokers, fund administrators, custodians, market data providers, or portfolio management systems. Experience building investment and risk analytics. Experience helping build or lead technology and engineering teams in a growing environment.
