Main duties of the job:

  • You will be part of a dynamic and forward-thinking team providing support in a very busy medical centre, providing support to patients and clinicians, and always demonstrating a professional disposition.
  • Document management - ensuring that all incoming and outgoing documents are processed and scanned or forwarded accurately and in a timely manner.
  • Receiving calls and assisting with direct face-to-face patient enquiries whilst always maintaining a professional and courteous approach.
  • To ensure reception and administration duties and responsibilities within the Practice are carried out accurately and in a timely fashion, adhering to the policies and protocols.
  • You will be required to undergo a thorough DBS check.
  • To work flexibly to meet the business needs.
  • The practice team will be responsible for your training and support.

About us:

  • Opening and closing of building.
  • Provide front of house service to patients using SystmOne to book appointments.
  • The opening and distribution of internal and external post, requests for prescriptions; dealing with queries.
  • Contacting patients to arrange appointments.
  • To record administration events within patient records.
  • Handling specimens and ensuring the appropriate forms have been completed accurately.
  • To deal with telephone calls to facilitate timely and appropriate communications with others and taking messages accurately and within a timely manner.
  • Document management - scanning and forwarding clinical letters.
  • Processing medication requests.
  • To arrange ambulances and patient transport as required.
  • Other duties as required.

The post holder will demonstrate a good understanding of safeguarding and will strictly adhere to Practice safeguarding policies and procedures.

Person Specification:

Experience:

  • Experience of working within a team.
  • Working in a busy and changing environment.
  • Experience of working in primary care.

Qualifications:

  • GCSE grade A to C in English and Maths.
  • Qualified to NVQ level 3.
