We have a number of exciting opportunities for enthusiastic individuals to join our Operations team in Wimborne, Dorset as a Technical Operator. We are offering this position on a full-time, permanent basis. We have a number of positions available across our Warehouse, Paint and Wallpaper factories - on application you will be asked for any preferences and shift patterns (5am-1pm, 6am-2pm, 10am-6pm or 1pm-9pm).

What We Expect From You As a Technical Operator

  • Accountable for the effectiveness of the area you work on and responsible for managing the relevant processes.
  • Contribute to and understand the critical success factors (CSFs) for the process you work on, displayed to management through daily improvement (MDI) boards.
  • Deliver success against the targets within the CSFs and join the daily huddle to declare the results of the previous day MDI boards.
  • Complete process control documentation (PCD), including short-interval control (SIC), to underpin the reporting for the MDI boards.
  • Escalate issues or problems that may impact success to your line manager directly and via the concern, cause and countermeasure (3C) sheets on the MDI board.
  • Use digital systems and software that drive or are a key dependency for your process.
  • Prepare to train others in aspects of your process.
  • Maintain readiness to be trained and coached as part of your personal development – this may be lateral (other processes) or vertical (career development).
  • Provide clear and concise information to colleagues within the business as required.
  • Use tools and techniques within a wider continuous improvement (CI) context when trained and coached in their use – for example 6S, a method of workplace organization, to maintain a clean, organised and tidy working environment, or root cause analysis (RCA) tools and techniques.
  • You may be asked to perform other tasks commensurate with your role’s general responsibilities and accountabilities.
