We have an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic individual to join our Research & Development team in Wimborne as a Colour Systems and ICT support Technician. We are offering this position on a full time permanent basis. This role will be working on site in Wimborne 5 days per week.

As a Colour Systems & ICT Support Technician, you will be responsible for managing all colour formulations and maintaining the accuracy and integrity of data within our database. Reporting to the Colour Systems Assistant Manager, the ideal candidate will be customer-focused, detail-oriented, and experienced in working within a laboratory environment, with strong data handling skills.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform routine colour measurements and make colour adjustments using colour‑matching software.
  • Carry out laboratory tasks, equipment calibration, and verification in line with SOPs and HSE standards.
  • Prepare high‑quality colour samples for marketing, technical, and internal use.
  • Triage the tint support inbox, assist with ICT colour complaints, and log Certificates of Analysis.
  • Support quality monitoring by reviewing complaint trends, spotting early issues in colour performance.
  • Track recurring issues, analyse complaint trends, and prepare data for root‑cause investigations.
  • Enter and update basic product, colourant, and formula information in the ICT database.
  • Maintain and update label templates following established procedures.
  • Assist in testing new ICT software versions, features, or updates by running simple checks.

Key Attributes

  • GCSE grade 5 or above Science, Maths and English.
  • Experience working in a laboratory, production, or technical environment.
  • Experience operating technical equipment (using colour‑measurement instruments (e.g., spectrophotometers desirable).
  • Data handling – experience recording, organising or validating technical data (use of spreadsheets e.g. Excel).
  • Experience of root‑cause analysis, problem‑solving activities, or process improvement projects.
  • Experience supporting technical teams, troubleshooting issues, or interacting with internal & external stakeholders.
