We have an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic individual to join our Warehouse team in Wimborne, as a Section Manager. We are offering this position on a full time, permanent basis, working Monday - Friday, shift pattern 1pm -9pm.
The Section Manager is responsible for leading and coordinating a team within a defined area of the Warehouse environment to ensure operational targets are met safely, efficiently, and to the highest quality standards. This role involves managing Technical Operators and other frontline staff, overseeing daily warehouse activities, driving continuous improvement, and ensuring compliance with health, safety, and quality protocols. The Section Manager plays a key role in workforce planning, performance management, and fostering a culture of accountability and collaboration across the team.
Key ResponsibilitiesWorking as part of the leadership team within Operations, the Section Manager is accountable for several processes simultaneously and the people working on those processes. The Section Manager is accountable for the performance of the Section in terms of Safety, Quality, Delivery, Cost and People.
- Safety – specific Safety critical success factors (CSFs) and the proactive escalation of Safety risks and resolutions.
- Quality – the specific quality CSFs, the proactive escalation of quality‑related challenges and resolutions.
- Delivery – CSFs relating to delivery, and the awareness of the impact of their process outputs on the receiving functions.
- Cost – specific cost CSFs and the control of resource consumption.
- People – any CSFs relating to our people and the engagement of the section with management through the daily improvement (MDI) process.
To, through the fluent use of MDI, establish, maintain and vary the CSFs for individual processes, in consultation with the Head of Logistics & Warehouse, to improve the performance of the processes within that Section. To act as an ambassador for the business – supporting the wider functions within the business – working collaboratively and cross‑functionally. Maintaining preparedness for your own personal growth, development and career progression opportunities.
