We are currently looking for a creative individual to join our Colour Consultancy team in Glasgow as a Colour Consultant. We are offering this position on a full time permanent basis, working remotely. Farrow & Ball is a luxury British lifestyle brand that prides itself in creating richly pigmented paint and handcrafted wallpaper, using print methods dating back 300 years and the finest quality ingredients. The unique Farrow & Ball look transforms modern and traditional homes, large and small, inside and out.

As the Colour Consultant you will be providing an in-home & online colour consultancy service that adheres to Farrow & Ball standards, whilst meeting the customer’s needs and providing an excellent service that gives them the confidence to use Farrow & Ball products.

Key Responsibilities
  • Proactively sell the colour consultancy service and F&B products.
  • Manage the end to end customer journey ensuring appropriate pre and post visit follow up, facilitation of post consultancy orders, early resolution of queries or questions.
  • Visit customer’s home (business, commercial space etc.) to advise and devise appropriate colour schemes (paint & paper) for the customer’s requirements.
  • Produce detailed specification to include chosen colours, wallpaper, quantity, finishes, and third party/licenced products and costings.
  • Showcase a proactive approach to KPI Target achievements on a monthly basis.
  • Identify sales opportunities post consultancy as well as purchase triggers e.g. colour card, sample pots, utilising targeted reporting to drive sales conversion.
  • Undertake regular visits to Showrooms to ensure the Colour Consultancy service is promoted, and to keep up to date with new products, training and company campaigns and initiative.
  • Offer Virtual Colour Consultancy service where appropriate & geographical needs cannot be met ensuring the same high standards and behaviours are applied.
  • Engage with customers over an online portal to deliver a virtual ‘in-home’ décor service as required by the client.
Key Attributes
  • Strong sales acumen - able to close, cross and up sell, maximising all sales opportunities presented and identify growth opportunities.
  • Technical Expertise - understanding structures, lighting, substrates, spatial awareness.
  • Ability to match and articulate appropriate colour schemes to brief, properties and/or look.
  • Understanding of colour psychology and translate these to F&B colour schemes.
  • IT proficient - Microsoft Office (Excel essential), iPad, CRM, sales systems, internal F&B systems, and proficient in Outlook Diary Management.
  • Authenticity - able to communicate visions and plans in a way that is appropriate to the individual customer’s experience and requirements, whilst actively listening and asking insightful questions.
  • Influence - able to provide options and schemes to encourage the full F&B product range throughout the home and on all substrates.
  • Empathy - able to understand customer’s needs and ensure advice and options are to the customer’s taste and sensibilities, which ensures schemes are engaging and inspirational.
  • Self-starter - high levels of drive and motivation with the ability to work independently.
  • Communicative - able to confidently present to customers individually and during events.
  • Planning & prioritisation skills - highly organised and able to manage workload effectively, whilst meeting deadlines. High levels of flexibility to ensure the needs of the customer are met.
  • Previous design experience highly desirable.

  • Flexibility to travel across a wide geographical area.
  • Flexible to work daytimes, weekends, and evenings.
  • Full & clean driving licence with own car and business insurance.
