The Role
The business is seeking an experienced Legal Biller to join their finance function. This role will suit someone with a strong background in billing within a professional services environment who is confident managing the full billing cycle and working closely with fee earners and stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
- Preparing, reviewing and issuing legal bills in line with client agreements and internal policies
- Managing the end-to-end billing process, ensuring accuracy and timely completion
- Liaising with fee earners to resolve billing queries and amendments
- Ensuring compliance with client guidelines, SLAs and regulatory requirements
- Producing billing reports and supporting month-end activities
- Maintaining accurate billing records and supporting audit requirements
- Handling ad-hoc finance and billing-related queries as required
Desirable Skills & Experience
- Minimum of 2 years’ experience in a legal billing role
- Professional services background preferred (legal experience highly desirable)
- Strong understanding of billing processes, rates and fee structures
- High level of accuracy and attention to detail
- Confident communicator, comfortable liaising with fee earners and stakeholders
- Strong organisational and time-management skills
- Ability to work to deadlines in a fast-paced environment
- Good Excel skills and general finance systems experience
