The Company

I’m partnering with a growing consultancy based on the outskirts of Maidstone, well regarded for its supportive culture, strong client relationships and steady expansion. As the business continues to grow heading into the new year, they’re looking to add an experienced, hands‑on Credit Controller to their close‑knit finance team.

The Role

This is a busy, transactional credit control position where you’ll take full ownership of the sales ledger and debt management process. Acting as the main point of contact for all credit control matters, you’ll play a key role in maintaining healthy cashflow and ensuring accounts are kept accurate and up to date.

It’s a great opportunity for someone who enjoys structure, responsibility and being closely involved in the day‑to‑day running of the finance function.

Key Responsibilities

  • Chasing outstanding invoices via phone and email
  • Actively reducing aged debt and supporting strong cashflow
  • Setting up new customer accounts and completing credit checks
  • Raising sales invoices and credit notes
  • Allocating and reconciling customer payments
  • Monitoring the debtor ledger and producing aged debt reportsi>
  • Investigating and resolving invoice queries and disputes
  • Maintaining accurate records and audit trails within the finance system
  • Supporting month‑end with reconciliations and reporting
  • Contributing to improvements in credit control and debt management processes
  • Providing ad‑hoc administrative support to the wider finance team as needed

Skills & Experience

  • Proven experience in a transactional Credit Control role
  • Confident, professional and personable communication style
  • Strong relationship‑building skills with clients and internal stakeholders
  • Comfortable using finance systems and Excel
  • Highly organised with excellent attention to detail
  • Able to manage your own workload and priorities effectively
  • Proactive and solution‑focused when resolving queries
