I am currently working with a well-established and highly regarded accounting practice in Tunbridge Wells that is looking to appoint an experienced Tax Accountant to strengthen its growing tax team. This role offers an excellent opportunity for a CTA-qualified professional (or someone with equivalent high-level practical experience) who is keen to work across a broad range of tax matters within a supportive and forward-thinking environment.
This position would suit a technically strong, commercially minded individual who enjoys advising clients, collaborating with colleagues, and playing an active role in developing both people and processes.
Responsibilities- Delivering expert tax advice across multiple tax areas, including income tax, corporation tax, inheritance tax, capital gains tax and estate planning
- Supporting colleagues at all levels with technical tax queries for individuals, owner-managed businesses and corporate clients
- Preparing and reviewing tax computations, returns and supporting documentation in line with statutory deadlines
- Providing proactive tax planning and advisory services to help clients optimise their tax position
- Researching complex tax matters and delivering clear, practical, solutions-focused advice
- Liaising with HMRC on behalf of clients, managing enquiries and resolving disputes
- Keeping abreast of changes in UK tax legislation and ensuring ongoing compliance
- Supervising and mentoring junior team members, offering technical guidance and support
- Assisting with corporate group restructuring projects
- CTA qualification, or the ability to demonstrate extensive high-level practical experience across all areas of tax
- Proven experience within an accountancy practice environment
- Strong technical knowledge of UK tax legislation, compliance and planning
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build trusted client relationships
- Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage deadlines effectively
- A proactive and detail-oriented approach
- Managing a portfolio of clients
- Leadership or mentoring experience
- Competitive salary, dependent on experience and level
- Death in Service cover (5x basic salary)
