This is an excellent opportunity for an ambitious and technically capable accountant to take on a varied role across audit, accounts and corporation tax, working closely with managers and directors to support a diverse portfolio of clients.
As an Audit & Accounts Senior, you’ll enjoy a strong balance of responsibility and support, with the opportunity to lead audit assignments, develop junior team members and continue strengthening your technical expertise. You’ll also have the opportunity to work on a range of additional client projects, including management accounts, cash flow forecasts and budgets.
Key Responsibilities
As an Audit & Accounts Senior, your responsibilities will include:
- Preparing statutory accounts for a varied portfolio of clients, working closely with managers and directors.
- Leading audit assignments, coordinating the audit team and overseeing assignments through to completion.
- Preparing corporation tax computations and returns for companies and groups.
- Reviewing and supporting the work of trainees and semi-seniors, helping them develop their technical knowledge and confidence.
- Preparing management accounts, cash flow forecasts and budgets to support clients with financial and business planning.
- Assisting with a variety of additional client projects as required.
- Managing your own workload and deadlines while maintaining a high standard of accuracy and client service.
- Building strong relationships with clients and acting as a trusted point of contact.
Requirements
To be considered for this Audit & Accounts Senior opportunity, you’ll ideally have:
- ACA or ACCA qualification, be actively working towards qualification, or be qualified by experience.
- A strong technical understanding of statutory accounts, audit procedures and corporation tax.
- Experience using accountancy software and a good level of general IT literacy.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to build effective relationships with clients and colleagues.
- Strong organisational and time-management skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities and take ownership of your workload.
- A collaborative and proactive approach, combined with the confidence to work independently.
- Previous experience within an accountancy practice environment.
