Commercial law firm in London is looking to recruit a mid-level Associate of 2 or more years’ PQE to join the IT/Tech Transactions team within the firm’s Commercial department. This hire will have a focus on the Defence sector.
The post holder will assist on a range of technology specific agreements, from licensing, cloud, SaaS and IoT agreements to more project-focused documents supporting outsourcings, (public and private) procurements and technology implementation projects, demonstrating a real interest in the (legal) issues inherent in technology contracting and with increasing seniority, bringing proven insight and experience in one or more key areas such as connectivity, IT and/or non-personal data.
The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate involvement and understanding of the contracts, risks and relationships in one or more of the following key areas for the Tech Transactions group, namely:
- Connectivity (eg IoT, cloud, hosting, telecoms)
- IT (eg SaaS, software development & licensing, VARs)
- Non-personal data (eg licensing, development and exploitation)
You will also assist the adoption and implementation of technologies in different contexts, such as in the financial services industry, retail, aviation & defence, media or energy sectors for example. Additionally, you will not only have the ability to liaise effectively with other fee earners from within the group but also be able to liaise and coordinate with fee earners from other relevant disciplines and jurisdictions as required.
