Outstanding opportunity for two Charities lawyers (one of 0 to 2 and the other of 3 or more years’ PQE) to join this well-regarded, directories-listed Charity & Social Enterprise team in London. These roles offer a hybrid working environment, with at least two days spent in the office per week.
The successful candidates will be involved in all areas of law and practice relating to charities and social enterprise involving a mix of the following:
- Charity governance
- Restructuring, mergers and other transfers of businesses and assets
- Funding initiatives
- Formation of new charities and other social enterprise vehicles, including those at the forefront of legal and social developments
- Charity governing documents including Charity Commission schemes and orders
- Trading structures
- Commercial partnerships and other contracting arrangements
- Charity Commission Inquiries and other Charity Commission monitoring and investigation including assisting with Interim Manager work
- Charity disputes and litigation, including the Charity Tribunal, working with our Dispute Resolution team
Guidance and direction are available from more senior members of the team on more complex matters. It is encouraged that team members take ownership and responsibility for work, at increasing levels of significance in order to progress their position over time within the team and the firm.
Qualifications
- Be a qualified Solicitor (NQ - 2 or 3+ years' PQE) with solid experience in drafting, legal research, file management and client relationship building
- Possess a real interest in the Charity sector
- Have an ability to work collaboratively as part of a team and contribute effectively
- Possess excellent communication skills, both internally with colleagues and externally with clients
- Have a commitment to ongoing professional development and a desire to further your knowledge in the field of law
