Commercial law firm in Leeds is seeking a Commercial Property lawyer with 3 or more years’ PQE. The role is part of a new mandate for one of their major clients, and the firm is looking to appoint two Associates to act as a dedicated resource. The role can be office based or primarily home based, requiring travel to the Leeds office at least twice per month, with initial training attendance and occasional trips to London to meet the client. The successful candidate will build in‑depth knowledge of the client and its business while benefiting from the law firm’s support and innovation model.
Key Responsibilities
- Drafting and negotiating commercial leases (new, renewal and reversionary)
- Drafting and negotiating ancillary lettings documents such as licences to alter, rent deposit deeds, etc.
- Answering tenant due diligence enquiries and liaising with appropriate professional advisors
- Managing letting and management applications during the term of existing leases (e.g., licences to assign, underlet, deed of variation)
- Handling completion processes such as deed administration, collection of completion monies and post‑completion administration and billing
Other Responsibilities
- Supervising work carried out by junior lawyers and paralegals on lettings and management matters
- Carrying out other legal tasks as required for this client or senior team members, including assisting with sales, purchases and other transactions
- Maintaining a worklog and status updates for each matter with contemporaneous updates
- Direct contact with the client and other professionals engaged by the client, including networking opportunities
- Working closely with the wider client account team to ensure consistency of approach, sharing best practice and assisting with creating and maintaining precedents and client processes
- Managing personal financials such as WIP, billing and write‑offs

3 or more years’ Post‑Qualification Experience (PQE) in commercial property law.
