Well-regarded corporate Restructuring and Insolvency team in London is seeking to recruit an Insolvency lawyer of 0 to 4 years’ PQE. The team has specialist expertise in all aspects of CRI and its services include:
- restructuring of solvent and insolvent companies including debt restructuring, refinancings, debt for equity swaps, distressed investing, loan to own strategies and distressed M&A;
- schemes of arrangement and restructuring plans;
- pre-formal insolvency advice and planning;
- advice on directors’ duties and liabilities in relation to distressed or insolvent companies;
- formal insolvencies, including company voluntary arrangements, administrations, liquidations (solvent or insolvent) and bankruptcies;
- security reviews on existing or proposed loans;
- strategic acquisitions of insolvent businesses and assets from insolvency practitioners;
- advice to investors in distressed or insolvent companies;
- litigation and recovery actions;
- asset tracing;
- directors’ disqualification proceedings;
- LPA Receiverships, and cross-border insolvency and COMI issues.
Key responsibilities of the role include:
- assisting the team with all stages of restructuring and insolvency matters, with a focus on non-contentious work, including general case management;
- providing advice on all aspects of restructuring and insolvency matters, including enforcement options, to directors, companies, lenders and other stakeholders;
- drafting and managing documents and supervising junior team members;
- liaising with stakeholders (eg. clients, counsel, and other firms);
- actively engaging in business development and knowledge management.
To be considered for this role, candidates will:
- have strong commercial acumen and be client focused;
- be willing to be part of a dynamic and growing team with good career prospects;
- have a strong academic background and excellent written and verbal communication and organisational skills;
- have experience of predominantly non-contentious insolvency and restructuring matters, both corporate and personal (although candidates with experience of one or more of these areas of focus will be considered);
- be willing to take on early responsibility and opportunities to develop client relationships.
