Large company in North Yorkshire requires a junior Corporate/ Commercial Solicitor of 0 to 2 years’ PQE to join their in-house legal team. This will be a temporary contract of 9 to 12 months, as one of the junior lawyers in the team is going on maternity leave. Our client is a global company with headquarters in North Yorkshire, operating in over 20 countries and has a turnover of £5.5 billion.
The successful candidate will support the Group General Counsel and other members of the Group Legal Team managing a wide range of corporate and commercial legal matters for the Group both in the UK and internationally. Responsibilities are likely to include:
- supporting M&A transactions
- supporting strategic International legal projects
- commercial legal advice
- assisting in administration of the company’s share plan
- hands-on issue resolution
- reviewing and amending commercial contracts including big compliance contracts
- a range of company secretarial work
To be considered for this role, applicants must either be an experienced Paralegal or a junior England & Wales qualified solicitor with a good quality legal training and experience from either a commercial law firm or an in-house legal department. Your experience can come from a range of the mainstream commercial practice areas, including Commercial Contracts and Corporate.
Our client will also consider applications from candidates seeking either a full-time or part-time (3 or 4 days per week) contract role as they can accommodate both. They can also consider candidates from further afield, as there would be the option to undertake this contract remotely (predominantly) but with the possibility that you may be needed in the office for 1 to 2 days per month. You will be an integral member of this small but supportive team and the company operates a hybrid working policy.
