This directories-listed Family law department in London is looking to recruit a Family Solicitor or Barrister of 6 or more years’ PQE/Call. The team covers a very broad range of Family law and types of matters which they advise clients on include:

  • Pre-nuptial and post-nuptial agreements
  • Cohabitation agreements
  • Divorce and dissolution of civil partnerships
  • Financial remedies on divorce/dissolution, including dealing with family businesses, complex trust structures and international issues
  • Disputes concerning the arrangements for children, including applications for leave to remove
  • Relationship breakdown of unmarried couples, including cohabitee disputes under TLATA 1996 and applications for financial relief on behalf of children under Schedule 1 Children Act 1989
  • Domestic abuse, including applications for non-molestation orders and occupation orders, and issues concerning coercive control
  • Surrogacy and assisted reproduction

Key responsibilities of the role include:

  • Managing all client work allocated by the Partners and other solicitors within the Group and sometimes across the wider Department
  • Excellent case management skills and being able to run client matters (or parts of larger matters) with minimal assistance from Partners
  • Being client-focused with an ability to command the trust and confidence of your clients
  • Being able to lead and supervise more junior members of the team under supervision from the Partners
  • Showing an interest in mentoring and supporting junior team members with their professional development both formally (through internal training sessions) and informally
  • Being comfortable with undertaking business development both internally and externally

  • 6+ PQE gained within Family law
