Commercial law firm in the City is looking to recruit an Employment lawyer of 3 or more years’ PQE to its Healthcare team. The successful candidate will be joining a busy but growing Employment team and will be given plenty of client responsibility while being part of a supportive team environment. You will be a trusted member of the team and will work closely with the Partners to assist in the coordination of cases, as well as the supervision of other team members.
The primary aim of the role is to support the firm’s health sector clients (primarily NHS) with the provision of high-quality effective legal advice. Key responsibilities of the role will include:
- Providing legal advice to a broad range of healthcare clients, across the NHS, primary care and private health sectors.
- Undertaking all aspects of employment law advice including supporting clients in the defence of (often complex) employment tribunal claims.
- Advising on a wide range of employee relations issues such as disciplinary matters, grievances, managing sickness and performance, dismissals, redundancy/restructuring, discrimination, and whistleblowing.
- Transactional support including advice on the employment aspects of asset transfers (i.e. the application of TUPE) and share transactions.
- Advising clients on obligations/rights.
- Drafting employment contracts and associated documents and policies.
You will also build and maintain client and internal relationships and contribute to business development via article writing and client presentations.
