Commercial law firm in London is seeking a Corporate Tax & Employee Incentives lawyer of 0 to 2 years’ PQE. The team acts for a wide range of clients that include public/private companies, financial institutions and start-ups, operating both in the UK and internationally. The work mix is broad, covering Tax matters predominantly relating to corporate, real estate and finance transactions, with opportunities to assist with investment funds tax and employee incentives advice.

Roles and responsibilities include:

  • Managing a varied workload efficiently and cost effectively with supervision, appropriate to level of expertise;
  • Supporting Partners in client marketing and business development activities to develop the department’s client base and network of referrers and contacts;
  • Contributing to divisional knowledge and know-how initiatives.

Skills and experience:

  • If already qualified, you will have experience of dealing with the Tax aspects that arise in mid-market M&A transactions, in particular the tax issues associated with target businesses that have put in place option schemes or otherwise have management shareholders;
  • Any experience in providing advice in the Private Capital area would be of interest, but is not essential;
  • Share schemes experience, specifically in drafting equity incentive plans for smaller, start-up businesses would be of interest, but is not essential;
  • If you are newly-qualified, you will have undertaken a seat in Corporate Tax and/or Employee Incentives/Share Plans.
