Law firm in London, which is respected for the work it does in Charity law is looking to recruit a Charity Governance lawyer of 1 or more years’ PQE, providing support exclusively to charities and not-for-profit organisations. Th teams’ clients include some of the most prominent household name charities as well as numerous medium-sized and start-up charities, individual philanthropists and corporate foundations. The work will be varied and would suit someone with charity law or corporate / commercial experience who is enthusiastic about developing new areas of expertise and working within the charity sector. The role is principally advising on charity governance and commercial matters. It is a broad and varied role which will include setting up new charities, drafting and amending governing documents, providing advice on company and charity law, assisting with charity mergers or incorporations and advising on commercial contracts.
Specific experience advising charities is not a prerequisite, but a real interest in the charity sector and a willingness to learn and engage in business development is essential. In addition to those candidates already working in private practice, our client is open to applications from anyone with a genuine interest in Charity law, including people with relevant in-house experience or who have come to law as a second career. All lawyers in the team are given support to develop their career and are involved in shaping department strategy and you will benefit from the cohort-based career development programme.
