The Weekend Foundry Maintenance Technician is responsible for performing preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance on foundry equipment during non-production hours. This position focuses on maximizing equipment reliability, completing repairs, and preparing machinery for efficient operation during the upcoming production week. Success in this role is measured by the quality, timeliness, and effectiveness of work performed to improve equipment reliability, reduce downtime, and support production readiness.

Responsibilities:

  • Perform maintenance, repairs, and troubleshooting on foundry equipment and support systems.
  • Perform welding, cutting, grinding and basic fabrication as needed.
  • Complete preventive maintenance inspections and scheduled maintenance tasks.
  • Repair mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical equipment as qualified.
  • Replace worn or damaged components and perform equipment adjustments.
  • Inspect equipment for potential failures and report findings.
  • Identify, prioritize, and complete maintenance projects with minimal supervision.
  • Recommend equipment improvements to enhance reliability, safety, and efficiency.
  • Assist with equipment installations, modifications, and improvement projects.
  • Maintain accurate maintenance records and work orders.
  • Follow all safety procedures, lockout/tagout requirements, and company policies.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area or housekeeping projects.
  • Respond to maintenance emergencies as needed.
  • Other duties and special projects as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Experience in industrial maintenance, manufacturing, or foundry operations preferred.
  • Knowledge of mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and basic electrical systems and troubleshooting.
  • Welding experience preferred.
  • Forklift and aerial lift experience preferred.
  • Ability to read equipment manuals, schematics, and maintenance instructions.
  • Ability to safely use maintenance tools and equipment.
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently and effectively manage priorities with limited supervision.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, climb, and work in industrial environments.
  • Ability to work in hot, dusty, and noisy foundry conditions.
