Overview

The Machine Operator is responsible for the safe and efficient operation of machinery in a manufacturing or production environment. Operators are expected to monitor machine functions, maintain quality control, and ensure that production targets are met while adhering to safety protocols.

Key Responsibilities

  • Operate and monitor CNC DMG-Mori and Okuma milling and lathe machines, drill presses, grinders, and related equipment.
  • Adjust machine settings and parameters as needed to ensure optimal performance and output.

Quality Responsibilities

  • Inspect parts for defects or deviations from specifications using measurement tools (calipers, micrometers, etc.).
  • Perform routine quality checks and report any issues to the supervisor.
  • Ensure the final products meet company and customer quality standards.

Safety and Compliance

  • Follow safety procedures, guidelines, and standards to maintain a safe working environment.
  • Wear appropriate safety equipment (PPE) such as goggles, gloves, hearing protection, etc.
  • Adhere to company policies and industry regulations to ensure workplace safety and compliance.

Skills and Qualifications

  • Experience: Previous experience in machine operation or a manufacturing environment is preferred, but training will be provided.
  • Attention to Detail: Strong ability to identify defects or deviations in production.
  • Physical Stamina: Ability to stand for long periods, lift heavy objects, and perform physical tasks in a manufacturing environment.
  • Communication: Basic written and verbal communication skills to interact with team members and supervisors.
  • Safety Knowledge: Understanding of safety standards and the ability to adhere to them.

Education

  • High school diploma or equivalent is required.
  • Technical certifications or specialized training is welcomed (e.g., CNC training, etc.).

Work Environment

  • Manufacturing plant, warehouse, or production facility.
  • Exposure to noise, heavy machinery, and potential hazards; personal protective equipment (PPE) is required.
  • May require shift work, including nights, or overtime, depending on production schedules.
