As one of our Works Manager, you’ll deliver multi-disciplined work aligned with Farrans strategies in logistics, production, design, assembly, SHEQ, reporting and digital creation.
Responsibilities
- Ensure the coordination of a section of works on a larger project or entire medium sized project or several smaller projects.
- Ensure communication between all parts of the operation team including suppliers, subcontractors, engineering, safety and environmental team and client’s team.
- Build and develop the team to deliver all aspects of the project requirements; identify training requirements, review the performance of the workforce, and ensure delivery of briefings.
- Provide, monitor, and control labour plant and materials to meet the programme.
- Manage sub-contractors and direct workforce.
- Ensure high standard of quality on the works to meet the specification requirements ‘first time’ and minimise rework.
- Assist engineering team with working method and outputs for production of method statements and programme.
- Ensure accurate, legible, and up-to-date allocation sheets are recorded and provided at shift close with delivery tickets and plant returns to the engineering and commercial teams.
- Ensure all records for example inspections, works permits and briefings are up to date and in place.
- Carry out regular safety and environmental inspections and implement recommended courses of action as identified from progress monitoring and management inspections.
- Keep a full and accurate daily site diary, including any changes / variations, subcontractors’ attendance, and records of work related discussions with client / designer / RE / project team.
- Ad hoc duties as job requires.
Qualifications
- CSCS gold card as a minimum with SSSTS as preferable qualifications.
- To be considered for this role, you’ll be a proven collaborative leader who is experienced in leading and delivering large scale projects of work including water infrastructure or large-scale linear projects.
- Experienced in leading multi contractor and multi-disciplined teams to deliver a common goal to an industry-leading standard, you’ll be a savvy stakeholder manager by using an agile and personable approach to keep the required groups up-to-date and engaged in key projects.
- Ability to review information, consult with relevant persons and organisations to make agile decisions.
- Can demonstrate the ability to out-perform against a tight budget through effective programme development, risk and opportunity management and use of production and innovation.
- Experience in stakeholder management; including customers, client, site operators, landowners and utility companies.
