Job Description

The SHE Manager for Scotland will report to the Regional SHE Manager and will contribute to implementing and monitoring the SHE policies and arrangements. This will involve supporting and collaborating with the project teams, internal and external stakeholders, auditing, monitoring and measuring SHE performance, assisting with SHE reports, sharing best practice and coordinating activities within the project team.

The SHE Manager will be involved in a range of projects, especially those in the energy, transport and water sectors.

The role will be based from Farrans offices in Oakbank, Mid Calder, Livingston.

The role will require an element of travel to construction sites that are active within the Scotland region.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and champion SHE matters for the Scotland Region, engaging and collaborating with project and client teams.
  • Promote and uphold the ethos that health, safety and wellbeing is paramount
  • Assisting in compiling project plans e.g. Construction Phase Plan.
  • Develop effective working relationships and collaborate with internal stakeholders to enhance SHE performance
  • Conduct regular audits of site SHE practices and documentation and provide feedback to site management
  • Support incident investigations and ensure compliance with procedures.
  • Provide SHE advice during project mobilization and execution phases.
  • Deliver SHE-related training and mentoring to staff and supply chain partners.
  • Prepare and deliver timely reports and performance data. Maintain up-to-date knowledge of legislative changes.
  • Foster professional relationships with clients, consultants, and suppliers to secure engagement and understanding of SHE expectations.
  • Attend and represent Farrans at industry events as required

Qualifications

  • Proven prior experience in a Construction H&S environment – with at least 5 years previous experience.
  • Strong proficiency in MS Office suite (particularly Excel & Word) and using online project document management portals, such as Aconex or similar.
  • Effective working knowledge of health, safety and environmental legislation and construction management best practice.
  • Experience of implementing and operating SHEQ management standards and processes
  • Working with multiple stakeholders and locations.
  • Third level degree qualification in a relevant engineering, construction or SHE discipline. NEBOSH Certificate.
  • Full Manual Driving License
