Job Description
The Health and Safety Administrator will play a pivotal role in maintaining structure and consistency across the Health and Safety function. They will be responsible for managing key processes such as meeting coordination, document control, onboarding logistics, and tracking of actions and deliverables. Their presence will help reinforce team discipline, improve communication flow, and ensure that critical tasks are completed. This appointment reflects the team need for strong administrative support to operate effectively—particularly during periods of change and increased demand. The role will also act as a central point of contact for internal stakeholders, helping to streamline requests and ensure timely responses. The success of this role will depend on close collaboration with all team members, reporting directly to the Head of Health and Safety.
Responsibilities
- Provide day-to-day administrative assistance to the HSW team, including meeting coordination and minute-taking.
- Maintain accurate records of HSW documentation, ensuring version control and accessibility across the team.
- Support onboarding of new starters within the HSW function, ensuring smooth integration and timely access to resources.
- Monitor and follow up on key actions from meetings, audits, and project reviews to ensure timely completion.
- Act as a central point of contact for internal and external queries, helping to triage requests and maintain effective communication flow.
- Assist with the coordination and reporting of HSW projects and initiatives, including data collation and scheduling.
- Support the upkeep of HSW systems, trackers, and templates to ensure consistency and compliance.
Qualifications
- Working knowledge of Construction/Infrastructure industry
- NEBOSH General Certificate or equivalent qualification or working towards
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build trust
- Ability to work across multiple teams and adapt to dynamic operational environments
- Demonstrated ability to support a busy and dynamic team, and a self-starter
- Experience in coordinating projects
- Impeccable attention to detail
- Data analysis, including excel calculation formulas
- Document production (using excel, word, PowerPoint etc), including formatting

About the Team
The Strategic Pipeline Alliance (SPA) is an alliance of Anglian Water (AW), Farrans, Mott MacDonald Bentley (MMB), Costain and Jacobs who are contracted to deliver one of the largest infrastructure projects in the UK. It will be achieved by the engineering, integration and assembly of a series of interconnected pipelines which will enable AW to move water from areas with surplus water, to areas which are in deficit, making the east of England resilient to drought and securing water supplies for future generations. Securing the Farrans team in the South East England region from 2021 and through into AMP8.
