We are seeking a highly motivated Site Engineer to join our project delivery team working on a major Airport porject. The role involves setting out, quality control, health & safety compliance, and supervision of subcontractor works to ensure successful delivery of critical infrastructure in a live airport environment.
Responsibilities
Setting Out & Surveying
- Carry out precise setting out and dimensional control using GPS, Total Station, and levelling equipment.
- Maintain accurate survey records and as-built information
- Ensure works are delivered to design specifications and tolerances
Health, Safety & Compliance
- Promote a strong health and safety culture across site teams and subcontractors.
- Ensure compliance with airport-specific airside safety regulations and permit-to-work systems.
- Conduct regular inspections and toolbox talks.
Subcontractor Management
- Supervise daily activities of subcontractors to ensure works are carried out safely, on time, and to specification.
- Review method statements, risk assessments, and ensure adherence.
- Monitor productivity and quality of workmanship.
Quality Assurance & Reporting
- Check materials, workmanship, and completed works for compliance with drawings, specifications, and standards.
- Maintain site records including daily diaries, ITPs (Inspection & Test Plans), and progress reports.
- Assist in preparation of handover documentation.
Coordination & Communication
- Liaise with design teams, airport stakeholders, and internal management to resolve technical queries.
- Support site management with planning of resources and sequencing of works
- Ensure timely reporting of progress, issues, and risks
Qualifications
- Proven experience in Site Engineering on civil or infrastructure projects (airside experience an advantage)
- Strong understanding of construction methodology, technical standards, and quality control
- Experience working within regulated, secure environments such as airports
- Excellent documentation and reporting skills
- Degree/HNC in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, or related discipline
- Current certification in Manual Handling, First Aid, and Site Safety (e.g., CSCS, Safe Pass)
- Proficient in use of survey equipment (GPS, Total Station, AutoCAD)
- Strong knowledge of health, safety, and environmental practices
Desirable
- Experience with airfield works, terminal upgrades, or runway/taxiway construction
- Proficiency in software such as AutoCAD, Total Station, Trimble, and Microsoft Project
- Knowledge of airport authority technical and permit systems
