Job description

Joining us as a Quality Manager you will play a pivotal role in delivering Farrans' strategic vision by embedding a quality-focused culture across the business.

Working collaboratively across all functions and levels of the organisation, you will champion a culture of transparency, learning, accountability, high performance, and continuous improvement.

Implementing a refreshed quality management approach, supporting project teams through quality start-up activities and providing ongoing quality advice throughout project delivery, turning identified gaps into opportunities for improvement.

Reporting to the Head of Quality, you will contribute to the operation and ongoing development of the Quality Management Department, ensuring that business activities are delivered in accordance with the company's Integrated Management System (IMS) and that projects comply with contractual specifications.

Responsibilities

  • Contribute to development and application of the company’s Quality Vision, Values and Strategic Objective
  • Deliver Quality added value through project support – refocus audit from compliance to assurance.
  • Implement and develop procedures for Project Quality Planning, (quality deliverables from the start).
  • Provide technical quality-related advice and support to project teams and supply chain.
  • Plan and conduct regular Quality Health Checks on projects.
  • Review and consolidate NCR root cause analysis, quality trends, critical issues, post-project reviews and third-party feedback.
  • Operate digital platforms and data analytics to effectively monitor quality performance and provide effective project quality insights.
  • Build relationships to drive the quality agenda, structure knowledge share, embed ownership with senior leaders on quality performance and preventative actions.
  • Promote a positive, ‘no-blame’, continuous improvement quality culture.
  • Encourage a commitment to transparency, communication and knowledge sharing.
  • Demonstrate a robust commitment to HSE matters - nothing we do is so important that we cannot take the time to do it safely

Qualifications

We are seeking for you to be an experienced quality professional who is passionate about driving cultural change, embedding best practice, and fostering continuous improvement throughout the organisation.

To be able to inspire project teams to achieve a "right first time" approach, reducing errors and improving overall project performance.

To effectively demonstrate excellent influencing, communication, and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to engage people at all levels and promote a positive, proactive approach to quality.

  • In-depth previous experience of working in construction operations or construction quality management within complex large-scale construction or civil engineering projects
  • Strong proficiency in data reporting, utilising software systems such as MS Office suite, Power BI (Highly competent with digital quality and document management-based cloud tools, such as Oracle Aconex, Autodesk Cloud/Forma, Dalux etc).
  • Effective working knowledge of Building and /or Civil Engineering specifications, construction techniques, quality standards and trade work practices
  • Appropriate and valid CSCS Card
  • Availability for travel across various project locations
  • Third level degree qualification in a relevant engineering and construction discipline.
  • Hold a valid UK driving license

Desirable Criteria

  • Post graduate study or qualification in construction quality management.
  • A member of a relevant professional body such as RICS, CIOB, ICE or APM.
  • Good working knowledge of the Building Safety Act.
  • Experience working with major regional and / or national clients / frameworks
  • This role will require regular travel to a variety of sites
