About the role
We are currently looking for a workshop-based Technician to join our Agricultural Service department at our Milton Common Head Office.
Key Responsibilities
- Reporting into the Service Manager, you will be focused on carrying out pre-delivery inspections (PDIs), services, repairs, maintenance and refurbishments on a range of agricultural machinery.
- Pre-delivery inspection (PDI) and operational testing of new and used machinery.
- Basic services and maintenance of machinery.
- Fault finding and diagnostics across mechanical, hydraulic and electrical systems.
- Diagnostics and troubleshooting of CAN bus network systems.
- Refurbishment and full operational preparation of used equipment for resale.
- Use of manufacturer diagnostic software and digital service platforms.
- Accurate completion of digital service records and job documentation.
- Supporting workshop organisation, cleanliness and adherence to health & safety standards.
Person Specification
The successful candidate will demonstrate solid mechanical, electrical and operational expertise, working confidently with modern, technology-driven equipment and diagnostic systems.
Essential Requirements:
- Good mechanical knowledge and experience, ideally within the agricultural/plant industries but technicians from the automotive industry are also encouraged to apply.
- Understanding of electrical systems, electronic controls and CAN network diagnostics.
- Strong fault finding and structured diagnostic capability.
- Proficient in the use of computers, tablets and mobile devices.
- Confident working with advanced machinery technology and manufacturer diagnostic software.
- Excellent attention to detail and pride in producing high-quality workmanship.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a professional team.
Package details
Basic salary in the region of £30,000 - £36,000 dependent on experience, generous incentive/bonus scheme, 20 days holiday increasing by 1 day for each completed year of service up to a maximum of 25 days (plus Bank Holidays), company pension, employee discount schemes, employee wellbeing and financial planning service, cycle to work scheme.
Hours of work
8am - 5pm Monday to Friday, workshop-based (OX9 2NZ) plus overtime if desired.
