About The Role
We currently have a vacancy for a Yard & Depot Operative at our Hinckley depot. This is a varied role which also has a degree of machinery valeting responsibilities. As a key member of the team, your purpose is to maintain the yard, depot and machinery to a high standard, supporting site operations and site health & safety/security requirements. This role is an integral part of our business, where the key duties include:
- Ensuring the yard and depot areas are kept organised, clean, safe and secure
- Ensuring machinery and equipment is accessible when required to allow for the smooth operation of the workshop
- Assisting with the secure opening and closing of the depot, including keyholder responsibilities
- Being responsible for the safe loading and unloading of agricultural machinery, equipment and deliveries
- Using Material Handling Equipment (MHE) when required
- Assisting with goods in and out processes as required
- Preparing machinery and goods for collection – ensuring items and machines are ready and accessible for collection when required
- Cleaning & preparing machinery to a high standard and ensuring machines are presented in a condition to exceed customer satisfaction levels
- Health & Safety duties such as the regular inspection of machinery and yard equipment (forklifts and ladders)
- Working closely with the Health & Safety Manager to ensure a high degree of compliance with health & safety legislation
- Day to day upkeep of the building and outside areas, reporting any issues to Management as required
- Other general yard and building duties as and when required
This role involves working outside in all weather conditions.

Skills / Experience Required
- A high degree of knowledge and experience with Agricultural machinery is essential, including the safe operation of the machinery
- Previous experience in a Yard Operative position
- Strong organisational skills
- Comfortable with self‑management and prioritising your own workload appropriately
- A high level of attention to detail
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Thrive under pressure in a fast‑paced environment
- Confident using a computer and other technology
- Forklift Licence
