Training and Development

In partnership with John Deere, we can put you through our accelerated Technician training scheme, which aims to get you up and running as a fully‑versed, certified John Deere technician within 12–18 months. This involves a combination of on‑the‑job learning, in‑house classroom/workshop‑based learning with Farol’s Certified John Deere instructor and product training at John Deere’s specialist training centre in Nottingham. Once certified, you can then progress further with your training and become a Product Specialist in one or more of our many different types of machinery, or move into another department such as the Central Service team, Precision Technology, or Sales. The opportunities at Farol are endless. We can also assist with relocation for the right candidates.

Apprenticeship / Technician Training Schemes

Farol is the only John Deere dealership in the UK to offer the “John Deere Diploma” – a bespoke 2‑year training course run very similarly to an apprenticeship. The majority of your time is spent in the workshop and out with technicians, with up to 8 weeks a year spent at college for formal training, provided by John Deere/Pro VQ.

Trainee Positions (John Deere Diploma scheme) – starting salary of £20k to £26k, increasing to £31k upon completion of the 2‑year scheme. Workshop–based Technicians – basic salary up to £35k plus overtime and generous incentive scheme (quarterly bonus and commission). OTE in excess of £40k. Mobile Diagnostic Technicians – basic salary up to £42k plus overtime and generous Technician incentive scheme (quarterly bonus and commission). OTE earnings in excess of £55k.
