We are seeking to appoint one fully trained, motivated and enthusiastic Healthcare Assistant with excellent customer care experience to join our Clinical team within the practice. Healthcare Assistants report directly to one of our Partners. The successful candidate will be an integratedmember of the Clinical and Clinical Administration Team of thirty staff, supporting the clinicians who work in partnership andour patients by conducting clinical support tasks, infection control tasks,restocking and stock rotation. The successful candidate will be based at Farnham Road Practice but would be expected totravel to our other three practices within Slough. Main duties of the job

- Blood pressuremeasurement and monitoring

- Assist with setting upfor minor surgery procedures including dermatology, IUD insertion, removal,Implanon insertion and removal, and minor operations.
- Give advice on healthpromotion including new patient health checks for patients with long termconditions.
- Maintain accurate stockrecords, including liaison with Practice Nurse Team Leads by completing logs ofstock.

Job responsibilities
Clinical Responsibilities

- Arrange the lending of & teaching patients how to use home & 24hour blood pressure machines.
- Assist with setting up for minor surgery procedures including dermatology, IUD insertion and removal and implanon insertion and removal and minor ops.
- Teaching of inhaler technique.
- Assisting with annual diabetic reviews.
- Giving advice on health promotion including new patient health checks for patients with long term conditions.
- Act on yellow flag reminders where appropriate.
- Assisting with the recall of patients for review.
- Computerisation of letters & notes.
- Stock checks and reordering stock on a weekly basis.
- Record fridge temperatures and promptly report temperature variation from standard.
- Check stock in all clinical rooms as agreed.
- Order replacement stock and restock clinical rooms by liaising with Admin team.
- Maintain accurate stock records, including liaison with Practice Nurse Team Leaders by completing logs of stock .
- Sterilise the ear syringe monthly using a Milton tablet & record in the log book.

- Participate in regular staff training sessions to ensure development of skills and knowledge; to assess own learning needs and undertake learning as appropriate.
- Participate in clinical, multi‑disciplinary and whole team meetings.
- Observe and comply with all appropriate statutory requirements in relation to Child and Adult Safeguarding and to be familiar with the reporting process should this be required.

Person Specification
Qualifications
- GCSE grade A to C in English & maths
- Certificate of competence in phlebotomy
Experience
- To have a minimum of 1 year experience in primary care.
- Have an awareness of clinical governance and knowledge of patient group directions and associated policy.
- Good standard of literacy and numeracy.
- Be initiative‑taking with excellent timekeeping.
- Good IT knowledge and exceptional knowledge of Microsoft Package.
- Can build a rapport with our patients from different ethnic backgrounds, always demonstrating empathy.
