We’re looking for an experienced IT Delivery Manager to lead significant work to be delivered by the GIS IT delivery function to both modernize and simplify the Farnell landscape. You will also be responsible for delivering the IT capability required to support the key strategic business initiatives which are complex IT projects. You’ll play a key role in shaping and delivering initiatives that integrate legacy mainframe systems with modern, cloud‑based and e‑commerce platforms. Another important aspect of the role will be to elevate the current IT delivery processes to support this program of work and ensure GIS becomes more efficient and effective at delivering quality solutions therefore maximizing business value.

What Will You Be Doing?
Project Planning & Definition
- Define project scope, objectives, deliverables, and success criteria with business and technical stakeholders.
- Build comprehensive project plans—including timelines, cutover schedules, resource plans, and budgets.
- Identify and document risks, dependencies, assumptions, and constraints.
Project Execution & Control
- Lead full project lifecycle delivery using Agile, Waterfall, or Hybrid methodologies.
- Facilitate requirements definition and ensure project scope is clearly understood and agreed.
- Coordinate cross‑functional teams (developers, testers, BAs, infrastructure, vendors).
- Monitor progress, track KPIs, and provide timely, clear status reporting.
- Control scope changes by assessing impact across cost, timeline, and risk.
- Identify risks/issues early and drive mitigation or escalation when needed.
- Manage project budgets and track financial performance.
- Deliver projects on time, on budget, and with minimal business disruption.
- Ensure compliance with organisational policies and relevant regulatory requirements.
Stakeholder Management & Communication
- Build strong, trusted relationships with senior leaders, business users, technical teams, and external partners.
- Maintain effective communication channels with clear, consistent project updates.
- Lead project meetings, workshops, and reviews to maintain alignment and address concerns.
Legacy & Modern Application Integration
- Navigate complex environments combining legacy mainframe systems, e‑commerce platforms, and modern distributed applications.
- Work closely with architects to design and implement robust integration strategies.
- Manage integration‑related risks and interdependencies.
Process Improvement
- Continuously identify ways to enhance project delivery approaches and tools.
- Support the evolution of project management practices across the organisation.

Essential Skills & Experience
- 10–12 years’ experience delivering complex full‑lifecycle IT projects.
- Strong background working across environments involving legacy mainframes, e‑commerce platforms, and modern integrated systems.
- Proven track record of delivering projects on time and on budget.
- Broad delivery experience across both long‑term strategic programmes and short tactical initiatives.
- Strong understanding of modern architectures and integration methods (APIs, microservices, message queues).
- Proficiency across Agile, Waterfall, and Hybrid delivery models.
- Deep knowledge of critical IT implementation stages—requirements, design, testing, cutover, go‑live.
- Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication skills.
- Strong risk and issue management capability.
- Confident leader who supports, motivates, and guides delivery teams.
- Analytical problem‑solver with strong attention to detail.
- Adaptable and comfortable in dynamic, fast‑paced, and sometimes ambiguous environments.
- Skilled in project management tools such as Jira, Azure DevOps, MS Project, and Asana.
Desirable
- PMP or PRINCE2 certification.
- Agile certifications (e.g., ScrumMaster, SAFe).
- Experience managing vendors and procurement processes.
- Familiarity with ITIL frameworks.
