The Fish is all about relaxed, feel-good luxury... where guests come to switch off, reconnect with nature and enjoy great food, fresh air and thoughtful hospitality.

Reporting to the Reception Manager, you will play an important role in ensuring every guest receives a warm welcome and a seamless stay. You’ll be one of the first faces guests meet, setting the tone for their stay with genuine warmth, confidence and care. You will assist with guest arrivals and departures, handle requests, transport luggage, and help deliver the personal and anticipatory service that our guests expect. From greeting guests and sharing local recommendations to delivering room items or assisting around the estate, you will help create experiences that are personal, memorable and effortless.

We’re searching for someone who is passionate about hospitality and takes pride in delivering outstanding guest service. You will ideally:

  • Be friendly, professional and naturally welcoming
  • Enjoy working in a team and supporting colleagues across departments
  • Be proactive and able to anticipate guest needs
  • Have excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Take pride in maintaining high standards of cleanliness and presentation
  • Have good local knowledge or an interest in learning about the area
  • Be able to stay calm and solution-focused when handling guest queries or concerns

Previous hospitality experience is helpful but not essential – a positive attitude and willingness to learn are most important.

  • Estate-wide discounts on dining, stays, spa products & more

  • Premium pay for Christmas & New Year shifts
  • Optional low-cost healthcare cash plan
  • Free, in-person financial planning advice
  • Fully funded apprenticeships
  • Career progression across our award-winning hotels — The Fish, Dormy House & Foxhill Manor
